Your guide to weddings, blessings and receptions at our historic attractions.
Some of our venues are available for small wedding ceremonies but unfortunately, many of our sites do not meet the required criteria to host a civil ceremony. They are however suited for a blessing or reception.
None of our venues are currently licensed for civil ceremonies. You can however make a one off application to register a site specifically for your ceremony. To find out more about the application process click the link below.
House of Manannan
With unique views across Peel Marina and St. Patrick’s Isle the House of Manannan is ideal for an intimate ceremony. Photo opportunities in the galleries or on a fine day, in the grounds of Peel Castle.
Peel Castle
Enjoy dramatic views across Peel bay in this ancient fortress. Suitable for open air blessings and photographs.
Niarbyl
Niarbyl is set on one of the most stunning stretches of coastline on the Island. The café can be used for wedding receptions or there is a lawn area suitable for a marquee to be sited.
The Sound
In the southern tip of the Island with panoramic views of the Calf of Man, The Sound offers a stunning location for a wedding reception.
Rushen Abbey
With picturesque grounds the Abbey is suited for an open air blessing and marquee receptions.
The Abbey Restaurant
Situated adjacent to Rushen Abbey, the Abbey Restaurant is the perfect location for bespoke wedding receptions. Small wedding ceremonies and blessings may be held at the Abbey by special request.
Castle Rushen
Suitable for smaller gatherings and photographs. The Presence Chamber has a capacity for 35 guests seated, or 50 standing and there is considerable space in the grounds for a marquee. There are no catering facilities which may limit the menu options a caterer can offer and the venue is only available in the evenings and out of season. Rooms are accessed via stone stairways. However if your plans are flexible, the castle can provide a fairytale setting for a small wedding and reception.
The Grove
The Grove gardens offer an ideal setting for a marquee based reception.
Other unique venues may also be available for functions by special request.
