SOLD OUT Film screening: Labyrinth (1986)

–Castle Rushen

An afternoon film matinee hosted by Manx National Heritage and Isle of Man Film Festival for visitors to experience the iconic 80’s film ‘Labyrinth’ in the grounds of Castle Rushen.

The 1986 mixture of adventure and musical fantasy film was directed by the creator of ‘The Muppets’ Jim Henson and executive produced by George Lucas, creator of the ‘Star Wars’ saga.

In the film 16-year-old Sarah, played by the famous Jennifer Connelly, quest to reach the centre of a vast otherworldly labyrinth to rescue her little brother, who’s been kidnapped by the goblin king Jareth, which role is embodied by no one else than legendary David Bowie. Most of the remaining significant characters are played by puppets produced by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.

The film will take you into a brilliant world of fantasy and adventure, a world where anything seems possible and nothing is what it seems.

Pack a picnic, bring a blanket and immerse yourself in the fantastic fantasy adventure.
