The Vikings had strong beliefs in life after death and how their dead were commemorated and celebrated.  Discover the evidence in this latest collaboration with The Jorvik Group and explore the mythological Viking worlds of the afterlife.

Artefacts on show will include everyday items such as pins, beads, buckles and knives but also arrowheads, lamps, cups and even ice skates. Visitors to the exhibition will also be able to come face-to-face with a person from Viking Age York, one of the human skeletons excavated from Coppergate, in the heart of the city.

A special hands-on children’s area also creates a world that encourages learning about Norse myths and sagas.  It includes a Viking encampment, dressing up and games.

The exhibition is kindly supported by

Isle of Man Steam Packet
